Welcome to Noah’s Kingdom Academy

Little Kingdom Daycare in South Reading currently offers care for children of all abilities, from 6 weeks to 4 years old. We have enjoyed running two successful nurseries in the area for the last 6 years. We were previously based in South London.

We are a dedicated, professional and well qualified team who put the needs, welfare and happiness of children in our care as our main priorities.

We propose to open a new school – Noah’s Kingdom Academy – in two phases:

Phase 1) In September 2013 Little Kingdom Daycare would like to open a free school in Whitley South Reading. The school would ideally be located on a main bus route into the heart of Reading; it would be a primary school with a nursery attached.

Phase 2) We propose to open a secondary school in 2013, so that the children receive a consistent level of education all the way through their journey in school. We believe that “every child has one opportunity for a great education” and therefore propose to offer an inclusive academy where our goal will be that every child will be able to say ‘I matter’ and will be taught within a framework of consistent values.

Proposal

We propose to introduce a dynamic approach to teaching known as ‘project based learning’ or ‘link learning’, which incorporates cross curricular teaching and learning where all pupils are encouraged to explore real world problems and challenges to develop both academic and valuable life skills such as problem solving, confidence and self-esteem. This system will energise and develop a curriculum which allows all learners to achieve their potential in a secure and stimulating environment. One third of the day would be focused of literacy and numeracy in order to develop every child’s ability.

Aims:

1) To provide affordable extended school service which will be open throughout term time, before and after school and during the school holidays.

2) To have 350 children aged 4 to 11years old.

We are particularly interested to hear your views of issues raised by our online questionnaire. The answers will provide us with the information that will guide us to provide a free school that best suits the needs of the local community.
